Fort Hollingsworth was built in 1793 as a colonial defense establishment for local settlers in the area. Fort Hollingsworth is operated by the non-profit organization, Friends of the Fort.
The mission of Friends of the Fort is to collect, preserve, share and promote the history of Fort Hollingsworth, Northeast Georgia and Southern Appalachia.

I have family members with Hollingworth / Hollingsworth appearing in their given names – this spans come 4 generations and I am trying to find any link as I have been unable to find a female ancestor with this name [usually this explains the presence of some names especially repeating through generations ] all the persons so named are male if that makes any difference. I wonder if you have any records of persons of the name Hollingworth / Hollingsworth who may have left for Australia or New Zealand in the past?
I realise this is a long shot, but I feel it’s worth the ask

Hey. Found this cause of Wikipedia. I looked up Hollingsworth cause its my last name so I thought to see some stuff related to my family. I guess I have strong roots down south.

I sure miss the Day at the Fort event! The Civil War reenactment was 1 of the highlights of our year!!!
